Meet the team behind this project
Utkarsh Mishra
Utkarsh is a Delhi-based lawyer, with an interest in issues of media accountability and free speech. He graduated with a B.A., LL.B.(Hons.) degree from Jindal Global Law School in 2015, and has since been working with organisations on issues of criminal justice and labour rights as a litigator, as well as through research and advocacy. He is currently working on fact-checking reports published by digital, broadcast and print media outlets for instances of biased/selective reporting on critical issues, and challenging such reporting before various legal and quasi-legal forums. Utkarsh's efforts recently prompted India's largest broadcasting association to draft guidelines for the manner in which anchors conduct debates, to ensure impartiality and objectivity in reporting.
Utkarsh's work towards seeking accountability in the dissemination of information led him to identify the pressing need for democratizing access to information, especially in relation to elections in India. The obvious lack of an exclusive audio-visual space to enable engagement by all stakeholders with the electoral process in India prompted him to kick-start this initiative.

Yasser Sultan
Yasser is an engineer, who is passionate about building experiences that help people make better decisions. He did his BTech from IIT BHU in 2008 and subsequent Masters from University of Warwick, UK. He has worked with various companies around the world in service and product development teams.
Yasser's interest in public policy and democratic processes, led him to the realisation of the absence of a medium in India that directly connects a constituency's voters with their candidates during an election. His background in data analysis and experience in building product, drives the technology at VotekiAwaaz, an initiative to bridge this gap.
